Today we’re going to be looking at another product from Razer’s high end selection, the £120 Razer Megalodon 7.1 surround sound headset. This headset has an on-board audio processor with Razer’s Maelstrom sound engine which claims to provide immersive surround sound from just two drivers.

I'd be very interested to see how this stacks up against the Tritton Axpro true 5.1 which is even more expensive than the Megalodon. As far as I know, the Axpro is the best surround sound headphone available and even it can't reproduce sound positioning as well as real speakers. I believe it is possible to do it with headphones with the right design and advances in technology but I'm skeptical that Razer did it with a USB solution.

Try to compare it with Logitech G35.

Sorry for resurrecting the topic but i have to say few things to say.

We are at 28/12/09 and Razer doesn t realise a firmware wich solve the sound cutting problems and the microphone static noise,they only work fine on windows XP,with the las FW accompliesh to do the mic worst than ever and no sound cutting for 50mins not for 20,25 with the old FW.....

And the support is just rubbish they just copy/paste things from their site or gives you a stupid answer to try fix the problem by yourself.

So here we are many users waiting for some fix "someday" for a 150€ PRO Headset by Razer!!!
