OCZ Agility EX SSD 60GB (SLC) Review @ DH
Read The Review Here
_______________ OCZ have just released their latest Agility EX drive which differs from anything we have reviewed in the past because it is the first SLC based SSD drive aimed at a price point to target the mass enthusiast market. While Single Level cell (SLC) and Multi Level Cell (MLC) are similar in design, MLC flash costs considerably less to produce and allows for higher storage density. The benefits with SLC flash drives are that they provide faster write performance and greater reliability ... |

Re: OCZ Agility EX SSD 60GB (SLC) Review @ DH
Dear lord, I really need to ditch my old maxtor HD
those speeds are crazy. It is a bit small but I learned a lot about SLC in this review, never really understood the difference and it seems quite important to mention the lifespan and reliability. Can't say I followed all the text on page 2 but I get the basic principle which has helped me work out the costs to make etc. When i get a little more money together I will be getting one as well. need a few huge system upgrades . |

Re: OCZ Agility EX SSD 60GB (SLC) Review @ DH
Guys what an awesome week for DH reviews - the quality just keeps getting better. the 5870 article was stunning from V3 and this was very educational.
I think this deserves the praise because SLC is so costly to manufacture, OCZ must not be making a very big markup on this, even with bulk manufacturing. Hats off to the OCZ guys, job well done !

Finally smaller SSDs with the same speed (or damn close) to their bigger brethren. 'Bout bloody time. It was just too expensive to pick up multiple 120GB SSDs for setting up in RAID0, but now.. now I know what I'll be replacing my RAID0 Raptor setup with.

that's some sick results..
i think another few months though and we'll see something that'll pan that out even better. didn't SATA3 officially get the green light?
