Gelid GC Extreme Thermal Paste Review @ DH
Read The Review Here
_______________ A few months ago there was a flurry of activity in the thermal paste marketplace. Gelid updated their product range with GC-2 and Arctic Cooling followed up soon after with their replacement for MX-2, MX-3. At the time we reviewed both pastes and found the MX-3 was a slightly better performer. Somewhat surprisingly around the same time as the GC-2 launch Gelid also released another paste, GC-Extreme. Today we take a look at their latest thermal compound to find out how it compares to the GC-2 and market leading MX-3. |

Re: Gelid GC Extreme Thermal Paste Review @ DH
So I bought a tube, based on this review.
Basically because Everywhere still sells MX-2, and I cant find Mx-3 pretty much anywhere I've looked except what I consider hole in the wall e-tailers. While I find the price to be like 6 dollars more then I wanted to pay, I opted to get it because I wanna try it on my domino, Do you have any comparisons to the stock domino paste with this or Mx-2/3 since you Used the domino?? |

Re: Gelid GC Extreme Thermal Paste Review @ DH
I think it's great that they include an applicator of some kind. Even if putting a grain in the middle does well enough, why not even it out a bit when there's a good tool included.
That said, when I put my little fun-build HTPC together recently I chose not to have any paste at all on the E5300, and it's running fine like that. Though the surface of the low profile Scythe Shuriken I picked is probably better than the stock cooler as well. Edit: By all means do use some paste in every build. I just enjoy goofiing around once in a while when I feel it's safe. Last edited by mkk; Oct 8, 2009 at 06:45 PM. Reason: word of safety |

I don 't think I'd ever advocate no paste. but that's just me. Mainly because I don't ever advocate metal on metal, unless it's sealed.
