Microsoft's IE reclaims lost ground in browser battle
Internet Explorer resumed growth in browser usage in March, reversing a years-long slide at least for now. IE9 in particular grew fast, but Microsoft is weak in mobile browsing.

Re: Microsoft's IE reclaims lost ground in browser battle
It would be interesting to see if there is any correlation between browser usage and any other events, such as Windows 8 Developer Preview launch. I'm of the opinion that IE will continue to go down in share, especially as people migrate OS's and it isn't installed by default.
It's a shame what's happened with Firefox but they just didn't move with the times. It's going to be interesting to see what happens as things become more Tablet friendly, will there be a crossover from the Tablet/Mobile browsers to a more desktop environment or vise a versa.

They want everyone using the latest, doesnt this seem strange to anyone?? THEY CAN PROBABLY MONITOR EVERYONE USING IE7 and newer (Which is what they want) alot easier!! Im Quite glad i have IE6 .. Last good UNINTRUSIVE VERSION in my opinion! Newer IS NOT BETTER... Newer is OVER BLOATED/INTRUSIVE UGLY GARBAGE!! Last edited by Dude111; Apr 4, 2012 at 04:13 AM. |

Re: Microsoft's IE reclaims lost ground in browser battle
frankly firefox has been consistantly unreliable...... although flashes horrible firefox plugin has been even more unreliable and crashy lately..
getting firefox to work on windows 8 is even more problematic... Chrome is nice, but has it's own limitations.... The only time i ever have to install firefox for someone is when stupid ISPs use shitty email software for web login, resulting in chrome and IE9/10 from being able to receive or send attachments..... sometimes it's worse on chrome sometimes it worse on ie9/10 for that.... and sometimes firefox doesn't work properly either.... so can't win. Still for me, having all 3 major browsers installed, i find myself REPEATEDLY going back to ie simply because it's faster, more reliable, and hasn't given me any issue aside from the above.. (but i don't use ISP webmail which is crap, stick to hotmail/gmail...).... yahoo however doesn't count as good webmail because even their recent updates don't work right with ie9/10
