Oak Ridge's Titan Named World's Fastest Supercomputer

The U.S. once again has the world's top supercomputer.

The Titan, a Cray XK7 system installed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee, has been named the fastest supercomputer in the world in the 40th edition of the twice-annual Top500 List.

Re: Oak Ridge's Titan Named World's Fastest Supercomputer

funny you mentioned this....
I'm a short drive away from there / here (ORNL) in Tennessee.

and in the past I have gotten to work on several older Cray models when ORNL upgrades.
just last year I worked on two Cray CX-1's that were purchased from ORNL by a small group of engineers starting a consulting group..

everything in that area is under a high level of security, I even got paranoid just riding around in tourism mode..
