HH: So what’s SAPPHIRE Select Club and why would our readers be interested in it?
Adrian: SAPPHIRE Select Club, or SSC for short, is a membership club we designed for our fans. We’re fortunate to have a loyal customer base and we wanted to find a way to thank them for supporting SAPPHIRE through the years, so we thought of SSC. When you join, you can get access to contests, information, events, and special promotions which we offer exclusively to members. For example, over the past four months we’ve awarded members over $5,000 (US) in SAPPHIRE products and 700 copies of games such as Futuremark’s Shattered Horizon. That’s a lot of happy gamers.
HH: So do you have to have a SAPPHIRE graphics card to join SSC?
Adrian: You don’t have to have a SAPPHIRE graphics card to join, but you will get extra benefits if you do. SSC has two membership levels, Silver and Gold. Silver membership is available to everyone, and as a Silver member you can enter most of our contests, get our newsletter, and access to the site. Gold members get everything that a Silver member does and more. Only Gold members get access to our free promotions section of the SSC website, where we post free software and other rewards.
HH: What’s the response from the gaming community been like?
Adrian: Great. We’ve been getting a lot of feedback from our members and the winners and they’ve found it brilliant. We launched the program back in October, and ran a contest where we gave away an HD 5K series a day - 40 graphics cards. Then we ran a series of contests for our latest VaporX graphics cards and an ATI Eyefinity contest, where we gave away an HD 5570 graphics card and a 24-inch Dell UltraSharp monitor with integrated display-port. We had a frenzy of activity and some great comments from our winners.
HH: What was your favourite comment?
Adrian: Hard to pick one, but I’d have to say one of my favourite was from the winner of our HD 5870 VaporX contest, where the chap literally left footprints on his wall from jumping around when he found out he was the winner. Hard to beat that level of excitement.
HH: Think you’ll do anything that big again for SSC members soon?
We’re always running a contest or giving something away to our members. Things will only get bigger and better. Members are going to have a lot to look forward to in the next few months, including something really big, but I can’t tell you about it right now
