what has happened? Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k11

Can anyone tell me what to do... my dvd-drive does'nt handle dvd-r any longer, my drive reads cd's and dvd's, and burns cd's.
But the drive don't read dvd-r empty or written...

have you tried other brands of DVD-r, or +r?
sometimes drives don't like certain brands/formats
