Hi, I had a problem with Wireless Card on Pressario 1685, one day it just stopped working. I tested the card with another laptop and the card is o.k. So I connected High speed cable to get on the net but that would not work. No connection. Running XP on the laptop. After a day of playing with it I decidet that maybe I should run the recovery disk. Did that and installed Win98. Still no card or cable working. Well, I installed XP hoping that it will install the drivers for them but got nothing. Can not even get the touch pad to work
I wonder if there is a hope for this laptop to see the net at the high speed yet? Any help would be nice. Thanks. |

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest drivers for your PCMCIA network card? What make and model network card?
The trackpad might be wearing out on that unit or it needs a special driver too - a workaround is to use an external mouse.
