Keyboard issues - possible to uninstall?
My laptop keyboard is buggered - recently, the computer detected that one/both of the CTRL keys were being held down, and I couldn't type or click without the computer activating some shortcut or other. Subsequently, the laptop has gone through cycles of CTRL not working at all, and CTRL being 'held down' - usually alternating when I log on/log off. I have removed both CTRL keys to remove debris - no luck.
Recently, I bought a USB keyboard in the hope that it would override the laptop keyboard, but sadly when CTRL is 'being held' it overrides the external keyboard and the problem persists. Is it possible to completely remove the laptop keyboard so that it doesn't function or is not detected by the laptop? I am happy having to use an external keyboard all the time. Sorry for the long winded request. |

It is indeed possible,
But it'll require taking the laptop semi appart to do it. Look around for a method in which you can "change" or tear appart your model of a laptop.... google is a good place to start.

it's really not as scary as you might think to get the keyboard out of a laptop.
only thing I'll say is that (depending on make/model) some use those silly torx screws, though a suitably sized flathead screwdriver will take care of them no probs if you don't have em
