Hello,

Happy Holidays to all forum members!!!

This is my first post in this forum. I happened to re-install my OS on my Dell laptop as it crashed. I forgot to note down the previous driver details and hence not able to judge which driver is essential for the hardware components. I have been to the Dell website and checked for the specific laptop product and it gave me a lot of different drivers for lot of components.

I would like to know from this forum members which one are the best and how can I make sure that the earlier drivers which were installed are being used actually or not. Is there any freeware tool that tells me which driver is being used for the particular component and which other can be deleted.

you will basically need all the drivers on that site

video chipset
ethernet
wi-fi
chipset
sound chipset

etc

basically you need to get the latest driver from every category, Dell makes that pretty easy.
