Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First the display drivers must be modded in order to get them work. Get mod tool from here: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php

The chipset and audio drivers you can get them from Intel's site. And same goes for the WLAN.

I have the M50SA-X1, and have win XP installed and operating excellently.

To help find the chipset and other hardware information, I highly recommend Astra32 to you.

I do not know about the M50SA-AK model, but for my model, the hotkeys driver from the "Vista" only cd, works on Windows XP, you just have to browse the CD and manually find the folder the driver installer is contained in. I am not sure which other drivers may be cross compatible, I simply tried it because both OSes are 32bit, but I doubt the other drivers will work, since vista may use different addressing values within the operating system.

Why don't you just try using Vista? It works really good after installing SP1

I just bought the Asus M50Sv-A1 and Vista runs amazing on it!

The multifunction touchpad driver from the CD works with XP as well...

As for Vista, I think I'd rather jump off a bridge first before ever even thinking of using it. XP is older, thus will run faster, and does everything I want it to do, with out the dumbed down nag messages, without 70+ processes running, and etc etc. To each his/her own, Vista is the new WinME. I perfer streamlined, clean installs without all the behind the back crap involved with Vista.
