I was able to find every other driver for the laptop but the correct wireless driver and I mean I have tried a bunch.
Any ideas?

Hello to everybody in the Driverheaven.net community!

I've joined recently to this incredible site and would like to share my computer knowlege with all members. But some time I need help from you guys too.

I have problem with my new laptop Acer Extensa 5420-5038 laptop: I was not able to find the wireless Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter driver for Windows XP. I have spent all day, and tried to install many downloaded drivers, but I have never been successful. Previously I've installed all Acer ePowring Technology software: it didn't help.

Maybe someone has a good idea, please I'll appreciate your time very much for the help.

i only found the drivers for the Acer Extensa 5410. the driver should be the same, it doesn't state the manufacturer of the wireless broadband chip, but it should work, since both of the notebooks use the IEEE 802.11g wireless standard. now, there were two drivers, one was for Wireless LAN Diver 802bg Broadcom Ver.4.10.40.0, the other read Wireless Atheros V5.3.0.67 XP XB63 XB62(WHQL) which was much larger that the first one (in size). so try each one of them, maby they will work. The drivers have their XP and Vista equivalents, so install the apropriate one depending on the platform you have installed on your laptops. here is the link to the drivers i found:

actually, funny thing, the laptop you described was nowhere on the list of manufactured notebooks by Acer... don't know why...

i think the first driver should work, since it supports the IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g wireless standards, so my best bet would be on that one , try it and post with the results
