Need advice on gaming laptop

Hey guys, I have been away for a while and I am way out of the loop. I need some advice on buying a new laptop. I have a budget of about 700. Any suggestions? I have been looking at Bestbuy etc..... Thanks.

Unless you are always on the go, please please save your money and buy a desktop instead. For 700 (US$ I presume) you should be able to buy an ok laptop that will be as powerful as a desktop, from 3-4 years ago, at least in gaming terms.

For months I was looking and researching gaming laptops, with a much higher budget, and the last moment I came into my senses and bought my current desktop PC for half the money and about 4 times the performance that I would have with the top gaming laptop.

The Acer is slightly better, but, Acer support is notoriously bad. If you feel brave, get the Acer, if not, get the ASUS.

Thanks bro, I used to OC a little and always used ATI. The GPU is my main concern at this point.

that GPU isnt very fast.... but those 3 are pretty much the best for your price range....

to get an average gaming laptop, you will generally need to spend 1k at LEAST and you could build a desktop thats extremely fast for far less.

do you truly need the mobility? gaming laptops in general are rather gimmicky....

for $750 bucks you can have a desktop with an AMD Phenom II 920 and some crazy graphics. just something for you to think about

Asus is a good choice. For me brand/support matters so much more on laptops, especially gaming laptops which tend to breakdown or develop problems more frequently.

I highly advice against overclocking a notebook. Heat dissipation is a major concern.
