E-System laptop 4215C no driver CD's (help plz)
Hey there,
Just reformatted my Laptop it was getting a bit slow and what not, Xp is fully installed but i can't get on the the net i believe i need to install my motherboard drivers but i dont have the CD's, the graphics/sound all work fine just the network card that i cant seem to get to work. the ethernet controller has yellow ? on it which im guessing is from the drivers not being installed? the only info i can find is this: Motherboard - DIXONSXP Northbridge - intel GL960 Revision C0 Southbridge - Intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME) Revision C0 CPU - Intel Celeron cpu 530 @ 1.73GHz i can find no knowledge of the network card name/modal number, i've ran 323 system information tool which gave me plenty of info just none of this.. :P thank you for any help you can give. *edit* hmm, i have read that XP instal generic drivers so if i have the drivers it must be something im doing wrong: Step 1: i plug in the ethernet cable Step 2: i go to the Network Connections. Step 3: i "create a new connection" Step 4: i choose "connect to the internet" Step 5: i choose "Set my connection up manually" Step 6: i choose "Connect using a broadband connection that is always on" step 7: i click "finish" but nothing happens.. am i doing somthing wrong? in my network connections i do not have and Local area conection either. i notice on my main PC i have an internet gateway and 2 LANs.. how do i make these? try using Everest to find out the brand and model of your ethernet card... if the applications does happen to recognize the card, post the model and brand of the card here...
