black screen after installing omega drivers
Hey guys,
after installing omega drivers to my notebook (Toshiba Satellite P100-119) I don't get any picture on my screen anymore, not even the bios or the boot screen. What can I do? The specifications of my Notebook are: Toshiba Satellite P100-119 Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 4GB DDR2-Ram It would be great if someone could help me. Best wishes, Marc |

Re: black screen after installing omega drivers
Is it possible your machine is in external monitor mode? On my old Hp it's the alt + f4 key. Can you "hear" your machine going through the whole boot process?
Sorry I can't help you specifically as my machine is winxp w/ an ati gfx chip. |

Re: black screen after installing omega drivers
Hey, thanks for your answer!
I don't think it is in external mode, because then it would have to work when plugging in an external screen, which it doesn't. the external screen stays black as well, I've tried that. And yes I can hear it going through the whole booting process, I can even log into Windows XP when it has finished booting (by just clicking around randomly and eventually hitting my user profile's login button by chance) any other ideas? if my grafics card was broken, would the "rest" of the computer still boot correctly, as it does in my case? |

Re: black screen after installing omega drivers
No,
I don't think your graphics card is damaged. Just a display setting that the Omega drivers inexplicably went to on install. Have you tried to brighten your display via the function keys? Maybe it will allow you enough visual to make it into the Hardware manager and rollback to the previous video driver. On my Hp lappy I have to hold down a key by my windows key(has a blue Fn on it), then hold down F8 to brighten the display. |
