Advent 7082 Heatsink?

Hi every1, virgin poster here wanting to know if you can help me with a question about a poser with my 7082. I had to remove the CPU cover to try to find were a rattle inside my laptop was coming from. I noticed a loose square piece of metal (29mm x31mm) inside. On its flat side I could see it had been stuck by adesive to something and I noticed that a chip on the motherboard ( about same size as the metal piece) had similar adesive markings. Could that metal piece be a heatsink for that chip and if so, is a special adesive required to reset it to that chip? Sorry about not being very technical but hope I have described it ok. Come back please.

It could be a heatspreader or part of the case shielding. If it was case shielding though it would usually be soldered or tacked to ground.

Can you take a pic of it? If it is some sort heatspreader it does require a thermal adhesive.

(Sorry not very laptop savvy here I don't own one)
