I have an acer 5520-5908. It has a 7000m vga. I saw the same models come also with 8400 and 8600m cards. Is it possible to upgarde it ( i know in some laptops you can change the vga is)?

Re: laptop vga upgrade

it may be possible but is unlikely, only systems with user replacable GPUs that i know of are Asus and Dells. the rest mount the GPUs directly to the board

Re: laptop vga upgrade

not all of them, but find your laptop model and see if there are any better GPUs listed for that model. then id go on ebay and see if anyone has that better GPU for sale....

most common items are Dell XPS GPUs though....

Re: laptop vga upgrade

Yeah seconding kris on this one generally the answer is "very unlikely" when you are asking to upgrade things like motherboard and graphics on a laptop. It just doesn't happen. At least not yet on a widespread scale. If they did I would have already done it on my dv6000.
