Default Post COMPAQ PRESARIO 2700xx Series

I have a Compaq 2700US and I am very pleased with it. My first Laptop and I think it will serve me for a long time. I'm a bit disgruntled that just after I bought mine in January of this year they came out with andother version 2710 and I think 2715. One of them has 16meg video memory and a 30 gig hard drive!

Had a few minor problems at first, all related to drivers or settings, but got all that worked out and she is running sweet now. It has the ATI Radeon M6 video. I will be changing the 8meg module for 32megs soon.

If anyone has one and has problems, let me know and I might be able to help. I've been thru the thing pretty good.

Using Cyborg's optimized drivers for the ATI Radeon M6 video. I will be changing the 8meg module for 16megs soon. Can't go to 32 because it's still a bit too expensive to justify. Will eventually get there though.
Thought the memory was on-chip ? It's the M6 P right ? Where can you buy more memory for it ? Have a Compaq Evo 160 myself, and while I like it alot I would like more than 8 megs video RAM on it!

My M6 uses a Memory Module that is replaceable, similar to system ram. The one it was shipped with was 8 Meg Compaq p/n 253915-001.

16Meg is p/n 253916-001
32Meg is p/n 253917-001

Not sure if your machine takes these or not.

Here is a link to a pic of the *meg Module:

I may be upgrading my video memory on mine from 16 to 32 megs, could you give me a step by step on how to order? Can you do it online?
