Battery life of a 10w vs. 18w Processor?
Hello,
Hope I posted in the right place for this topic. Im making a decision of getting a the new Alienware M11x. However, Im caught wondering about what would happen if it came with the new i series Intel chips. I've spoken to a rep at Dell and they said we would be seeing the new i series Intel chips in the near future. I can wait but the question is whether or not it's worth the wait. The main selling points of the M11x right now is the graphic output it has coupled with it's 8.5hr battery life. What would an i series do in terms of overall performance and battery life? The SU7300 processor in the current M11x has a TDP of 10w whereas the i7-620UM (Intels lowest ULV i7, all of the ULV i series are currently at 18w) has a TDP of 18w. How would the jump in 10w-18w change the battery life? Also Im not too sure just what's so good about the i series, I'm still newb with all the computer hardware stuff. I just know that it has more cache and has the power to overclock itself automatically (correct me if im wrong). Any info and help would be much appreciated =) |

And this isn't in the right thread, but I'm sure a mod will move it to the right place promptly.
