BIOS for PACKARD-Bell BG45-P-008
Hello,
This is my first post and I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum but it doesn't exactly fit in any of the ones you have here. It's a long shot but I hope that somebody might be able to help me out here. Here's my problem. I have a Packardbell BG45-P-008 in my posession but there is a biospassword on it. However the person who I got it from forgot the password and thus I cannot enter the BIOS. (BIOS=AMI version 208) This usually is a simple trick to do by either clearing the cmos-memory removing the battery. Or by flashing the BIOS itself. Sadly enough neither of these two options worked. Another simple trick I tried is the default AMI-passwords. (yes i took the qwerty-layout into account) but none of them worked... Here's a list of most of the ones I tried:
Other things I tried include bruteforcing the cmos-memory to clear it, trying to crack it with varios tools such as CMOSCLS.exe, cmospwd.exe and !bios.exe. As you can imagine by now, these didn't work either... So my last shot is, in my opinion, to find somebody with the exact same laptop, ask him to do a backup of his BIOS and then sent it to me so I can flash that one in my CMOS. Now I know that I might have more luck finding somebody with the exact same laptop on the packardbell fora but guess what, they're down for maintanance... Hence the question: Does anybody here have an exact laptop and if so could he contact me plz so we can backup your BIOS? Or of course if you have knowledge of any other solutions. Let me know! |

You can get the bios here: Downloads - EasyNote BG45 series - platform_horus_gb - Notebook

Re: BIOS for PACKARD-Bell BG45-P-008
I know Veridian3. The problem is if you read my post that if you flash it it still requires the password that was put in by the person who had the laptop before me. It doesn't remove it. So i'd need a working bios without password that's being backupped so i can restore it. Only then it will be removed, i hope. :s

sounds like you need to hard reset the BIOS by removing the battery from the laptops motherboared...

Re: BIOS for PACKARD-Bell BG45-P-008
I'm pretty sure the backup bios would be no different to the one on the PB site... neither would have a password.
What I would suggest is checking for a dos flash utility for that type of bios and then find out the switches you can use to force a flash. usually its something like afudos XXX.bin -f -c -s -x |
