Possible Network Adapter issue

I have a HP Pavilion dv9700 notebook pc that may need a new network adapter. When I attempt to access the Internet, I receive a’ limited connectivity’ error. I’ve tried everything to the resolve the issue, however the only thing that worked was to do a complete restore. The only problem with that is a day or two later the ’ limited connectivity’ error appears again. Also when I’m playing a game, the notebook fan runs the entire time and sometimes the notebook completely shuts down. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
(I have two notebooks and this is the only one with the issue)

Sounds like overheating to me.

Might be a good idea to open it up and clean it well with compressed air. They collect dust like nothing else inside.
