Budget Gaming Laptop

Hi there, im new here so hello everyone and thanks for helping. My current laptop is a Dell xps m1530, core 2 duo 2,1Ghz, 4gb ram 667mhz, Nvidia 8600m GT. I want a new laptop that can give me at least 20% more performance. I have 1200$ top, here are my choices. Dell, Asus, Alienware.

Dell xps Studio 16, core i5 520M 2,4Ghz, 4gb ram 1333mhz, Ati HD 5730
Dell Studio XPS 16 Laptop Details | Dell

Rather than answering your question, I am going to ask you some :P

-You current laptop sounds reasonable for anything but newer games on higher settings. What games do you play / want to play?

-Have you considered that you could get a decent desktop for considerably less than that budget that would be far faster than any of the laptops listed? You would then keep the laptop for portable use, and have a more powerful PC for your gaming.

-Those laptops are very different sizes. What exactly are you looking for? A desktop replacement or a high performance nettop?

Lastly, a spot of advise - you say you want something 20% faster. That sounds like you don't actually need an upgrade at all. $1200 is a lot of money to spend upgrades for upgrades' sake.

Yes, the new one should provide you much better boost than 20% over the old one.
Just make sure you get 4GB of RAM minimum
Have fun with it and if you want/can, post some photos of the new laptop when you get it.

Although the 5730 should provide a better GPU performance. (The ASUS model)

Hi there, im getting the 6gb ram one, and i think i does't worth paying for the gt435 cause it only gives 300mhz more in core clock and is 100bucks more, i will go for the bluray drive, and sure when i get it i'll make a unboxing video, thanks
