Toshiba Satellite A30 514.
Hi all, this is my first problem post here, my problem is that, I like a dummy accidently removed my Microsoft Office 2007 lol. I went to system restore and restored to an earlier point though got a message saying not all had been correctly restored. Now I cannot open any office applications and my laptop has gone on a go slow on start up. When I click on lets say word, a pop up box says windows installer is preparing to install, then another saying this patch package could not be opened verify that the patch package exist's. I have tried to go back to a further restore point but system restore won't allow me to go back to May, and now I am out of ideas. Will I have to reinstall MO 2007 as I don't have the disks at this time and it could take a week for me to get them back. Has anybody got any idea on how to fix this please. Thanks.

Yup, you will have to reinstall Office to get it working properly again.

re: Toshiba Satellite A30 514.
look in the C: drive and "hope" that there is a folder related to toshiba or preinstallation, check a few of the folders.. there may be one that has things pertaining to drivers and apps and such, just take a look around and see if there are specific files or folder that are related to microsoft office installtion (may be Off12.exe or similare)
THAT is only IF you office 2007 came WITH your laptop (either full or 60 day trial.. 99% of the time it's only 60 day trial) But essentially yes... you have to reinstall Office 2007.. as for your slowness.... yes.... system restore has a habit of just screwing everything up i find. Last ditch effort is to BACKUP all your important information you wish to keep... to a cd/flash drive/dvd/external hard drive...... and then do a FACTORY Restore which WIPES everything and reloads it back to the way it was when you first bought the laptop.. Toshiba's however sometimes only give you a factory restore on a DVD which you have to boot from... but sometimes it's only just a matter of pushing a combination of button before it starts loading into windows... to trigger it.

Re: Toshiba Satellite A30 514.
Ok, now I really have burst my bubble. I decided as my sister has my office 2007 discs, to save waiting I would restore the laptop to factory settings with the Recovery disc's..........that's where I went wrong. A year ago or thereabout's I had a new HD put in by a friend at work, half way through the first recovery disk I get a message saying ERROR, and now it really is beyond me, is there anything I can do? Any suggestions please, and I've already given myself a few suggestions lol, seriously though any help well do thanks.
