Odd Wireless problem
With my mum's laptop, every time it turns on it takes a really long time for it to work properly with the wireless connection. It registers that the connection is there, the password is correct and the security settings match.
The laptop is an HP G62 (I can get the exact model if needed), 4GB DDR3, Dual-core Turion, Win7 Home P x64. Naturally, the Windows diagnostics utility doesn't have a clue why it doesn't work. I've updated the drivers (Ralink) to the latest version. The wireless signal wavers between 4 and 5 bars (max 5), 3 on the odd occasion. The laptop does actually connect using its stored credentials, it just takes a very long time (better part of an hour, if I'm not mistaken). If resuming from sleep, the connection's there straight away. I've cleared out a load of startup items and uninstalled the HP Wireless assistant. Which reminds me, I haven't tried a Diagnostics Startup... Anyone got any ideas? Reformatting is a last-ditch, really and I don't have a spare HDD (though I might be able to borrow one...)

Re: Odd Wireless problem
Anti-virus/Spyware/Firewall causing this by any chance?
