Screen issues HP
I have an HP 8510p, It recently came out of warranty and now the screen is having issues with horizontal white lines and it seems a flickering backlight. Is this caused by the LCD going out? or is it something cheaper and easier to replace

Re: Screen issues HP
white lines are lcd..... flickinger is either standby/monitor switch or indeed the blacklight having a fit for any other reasons...
Unofrtunately... the only thing i could think of that could potentially resolve the white line and maybe even the flickering is replaceing the monitor cable that runs from the laptop to the screen itself.... Alternatively letting it die isn't a great one i know.... Sending it into hp to fix usually ends up costing an arm and a leg or close to that of a new one the moment it's off warranty.

Re: Screen issues HP
Is it even possible to replace the cable and not the lcd itself?

Re: Screen issues HP
in some laptops yes.... but it's not always an easy tasks.. specially if the manufacturer has used a special tool to compress the halves together.

Re: Screen issues HP
ok well the only screens I have found are in the 400 range and that seems insane for a laptop that is now over 3 years old especially when I am almost done with school
