Acer Aspire One - Please help!!
Hello there,
I recently stepped on my D250 Aspire One Netbook. At first the screen would show light as it's powered on but you could see where the pressure had been applied and where the split in the screen was. I took the Netbook to a local PC shop who had it for nearly 3 weeks. I went back to collect and they told me they had tried different screens but none of them are working. I've had it back off them as they were charging me a lot of money and I want to attempt to repair myself. If it isn't the screen, what else could it be? At first I thought it might be the Black Screen of Death and a BIOS flash was needed, however I can hear the Windows Logon sound play when the computer has booted up. I have however tried the flash using FN Key and Esc technique but nothnig happens. The netbook displays perfectly if I plug into a monitor. Please someone what's the problem here? Thanks |

Re: Acer Aspire One - Please help!!
if it works with a monitor
it would be the 1)screen 2)ribbon looking cables conecting the screen to the mb 3)the power for the screen

Re: Acer Aspire One - Please help!!
You should be able to replace the screen without opening up the main body of the machine, hopefully the damage isn't on the mainboard, which if it works off external display shouldn't be the case.
Follow this video once you have a suitable replacement screen. |

Re: Acer Aspire One - Please help!!
i had a customer that had their screen quit.... they claimed...... it looked like someone punched it..
anyways.. yeah same issue essentially... although worked perfectly from the vga out on it ... plugged into a monitor.... i couldn't get the screen to work reguardless of what i did.. (new screen).... it was like the connection at the motherboard itself wasn't working at all... so i think this may be a common problem with rough use of the acer netbook or when something happens to the screen possibly. Do what you can.. craig's got a good video for you to walk through.
