Buying a new laptop, need some advice

I'd like to buy another laptop for the sole purpose of running Backtrack 5 on it and I was wondering what laptop would be the best compatible-wise for this distro of Linux. If someone can select a laptop, preferably not more than a couple hundred of dollars from NCIX.com (Canadian NCIX.com) or Newegg.ca I'd be grateful.

Think I've settled on this one, apparently the T60 is good when it comes to Linux capability:-

Newegg.ca - Recertified: ThinkPad T Series T60 Notebook Intel Core Duo T2400(1.83GHz) 15" 1GB Memory DDR2 60GB HDD 5400rpm DVD/CD-RW Combo W/Docking Station

@ Callandor: I would try Laptop Closeout. They're here in Toronto (just up the street from my shop in Markham actually), and I buy from them all the time. From what I remember their shipping costs are very reasonable too... something like $20 by UPS (I think they use DHL too).

If you are set on buying the T60 just be aware that while they come in 14" and 15" screen sizes there are also 2 versions of the screens themselves. One runs in 1440x900, the other 1024x768. If you look closely you'll see that the one you linked to on Newegg is the 1024x768 version.

Another model to consider is the T61, but just like the T60 these too have different versions of the screen, although all are 1280x800 or higher.
