Laptop Hardware for Webcam

Just a quick question about hardware performance for webcams. I'm looking to buy a new laptop for use while I'm deployed in Afghanistan, and the only feature I really want is to have a nice webcam with the fastest/best looking video I can find to video chat with my girlfriend back home. The problem is I don't want to buy a really crappy laptop for cheap only to find out that the webcam is hamstrung by the laptop's CPU/Memory/GFX etc. Anyone have any advice on the situation? I'm probably looking at buying one of these two webcams, unless someone suggests a better idea. Thanks.

Newegg.com - Logitech C910 USB 2.0 1080p HD Pro Webcam
Newegg.com - faceVsion FV Touchcam Skype N1 USB 2.0 Webcam

Most laptops already come with webcams these days.

I have no experiance with laptops at all... As you have listed a Logitech C910....

Just to mention Logitech has today announced the C920 will be available to buy Early this month for $99

How much different it is over the C910 i have no idea...

Logitech® HD Pro Webcam C920

Re: Laptop Hardware for Webcam

The C920 (and the facevision) have hardware H264 encoding - the C910 does not.
