about HP COMPAQ NX9005 NOTEBOOK

Hello everybody, this is my first thread in forum. I have bought HP compaq nx9005 notebook at last times. My friend said me that it has old technolgy. Supposedly him, CPU is connected with wrong bridge on the mainboard. It is connected with south bridge instead of north bridge. Therefore, the system had a low rate of speed. Is this true?

I extended my notebook with 512DDR of Kingston mark. It little boosted but I didnt satisfy. I wonder if, shall I displace the 256DDR with another 512DDR? Thanks for interests.

Best regards...

adding even more wouldn't make much difference. stick with what you have unless you are in the mood for wasting money.

I think its impossible for a computer to function if it has it's CPU wired to the southbridge instead of the northbridge o_O Just doesn't work that way... do you have any links describing what your friend means? Anyway... I think you have plenty of ram, most likely. There is probably an easier way to get more performance out of your computer, though I'm not sure how.

maybe you should try tweaking your settings a little. my celeron laptop seems a lot faster than 1.8 ghz.
