Ethernet vanished

Well heres a strange prob,

for some reason my ethenet just kept trying to connect to nothing and windows was telling me it could only connect at 10MB/s so I disabled it in device manager.

However now my ethernet card has vanished all together, and I cant it anymore. Anyone know how I can resolve this?

I have gigabit 1000MB/s ethernet

That sounds like a virus.

Its not a virus or a trojan etc etc, as I use Panda Anti Virus platinum with automatic updates.

Any other ideas ppl?

Yes Ive ran a full scan and Yahoo Anti Spy, I dont have any problems, though last week it found adware and deleted it. cant remember what it was called, but I have nothing at the moment.

Don't quote me on this but you could try installing Intel Wired ProSet.

do not trust something like Yahoo Antispy, use the tried and true AD-aware and Spybot, and websweeper, and hijackthis
