New Radeon ATI 9700 Mobility User Seeking Help from True Gamers.
I recently bought a new laptop and it has a ATI Mobility 9700 128mb installed.
The drivers are working fine with the games I play after I installed Omega Drivers, but it still isn't performing like it should. I am getting 15-20 fps outside on World of Warcraft and 25-40 indoors. Why is this happening, especially with a AMD 64 3200, 1 gig of Ram (2 stick), and Mobility 9700 128mb Laptop? My laptops clockrates are Core 452.5 / Memory 249.7, as shown through Radlink. I mean I get the same fps in World of Warcraft with my desktop which only has a ATI 9000 Pro 128mb and AMD XP 2400. Is ATI Mobility 9700 128mb supposed to be this weak? |

Well, I don't know the solution to your problem, but I can help confirm that it is indeed acting abnormally.
My system is a Pentium M 1.7Ghz 2mb L2 Cache, 1024mb DDR pc2700, with same video card as yours. In World of Warcraft, I get around 30-45 outdoor and 45-60 indoor. This is with 1280x800 resolution with everything turned to highest, except AA to none. |
