AMD MOBILE Processor question

In the past month I have had 2 Sony Vaio's.They have both died atfter 2 weeks use so Im taking the last one that crashed back again today.My question is does anyone here have a AMD64 mobile processor?I am thinking of getting one so I need to know some info. please.The one I am thinking of getting is in a HP Notebook....Thanks guys!

mobile processors usually have a lower wattage than it's desktop counter part. the lower wattage allows for longer battery life, and cooler temps as well. other than that, i'm not too sure what else to say about the mobile processors.

I was speaking about the AMD 64 Mobile Proc. specifically.How do they preform compaired to the Intel "M" mobile processors...???

the mobile 64 chips perform on par with regular 64 chips. my brother has a mobile 3200+. Actually his Mflops run about the same as my AthlonXP when its running at 3200+ speeds now that I think of it...but it has more instruction sets, so its clearly faster(its better for game servers and such).

they are nice and fast, the only problem is that they are HOT HOT HOT! He has a compaq laptop and if you have your hand near the vent, you get a hot hand. It isnt unplesant in the winter or anything because your hands are usually ice anyway(even indoors) but in the summer it gets uncomfortable. you wont have your hand near the vent very often though unless you stick your mouse next to it like my idiot bro does.

I bought one and I am quite pleased.I got an HP with the 3400+ and it's quick.I can run 4 or 5 processes at 1 time and it cuts right through them with no problem.
