Damn Emachines and Omega drivers...

I have been using the Omega drivers for a little while now. No problems at all otherthan the famous overheating issue with the Emachines m5310. Other than that, I can play the latest games no prob.

HOWEVER just recently I tried to play a DVD in my laptop, and it stuttered like a donkey. It worked before. I know its the omega drivers cause when I resintalled the original drivers (2 years old btw) that came with the laptop the DVD worked. But I want to be able to play games. So I reinstalled the omega drivers and TADAA still didnt work.

Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance!

It's not the omega drivers that are the problem. Its the drivers ati released after the cats 4.5, which omega bases his releases upon. The last omegas to work with dvd are 2.5.44. I have the m5312 with the same problem, but installed linux also. So i just use linux for dvd playback. Its a pain, but games play great with the latest omega drivers.

what DVD software are you using? powerdvd for me stutters/freezes, yet WinDVD works fine
