arrow Audigy 2ZS Notebook locks up win XP in Inspiron 8200 after 1-3 mins of use

Ok, so up untill now, i've been one of the few dell laptop users not to have problems with his machine. I got the Audigy2 ZS Notebook card to help fix my latency problems with recording midi. All good, the card works fine when it works, but the problem is that when it's in my PCMCIA slot alongside my linksys wireless card it locks up win xp after 2-3 minutes at most. The only way to get out of this is to do a hard reboot. As you cna understand, this can get a bit frustrating.

I initially postied this on the creative forums and a dude told me to check my IRQ's and clean out teh dust, cause it could lead to overheating. well... did both, and the problem is still persistent. Installed regualr drivers, still, removed SP2, stilll....

thing is... that when just one of the cards is in everything is kosher, as soon as i put both in, crash bam, boom.... so I've pretty much racked my brain, and i havent a clue as to the next steps i could take to resolve this issue.

HELP!!!!! ...please...

System Specs

In a laptop, the PCMCIA cards share a connector at the back of the slots that attach to the mainboard. Honestly, I'm not sure that they share the same physical "PCI" slot - but I would say it is likely, and the Audigy likely doesn't like sharing. Laptops also have special firmware in the bios and some have software running in the backround within the OS to manage the PCMCIA buss traffic. The two cards are obviously conflicting...

You may try reassigning IRQ's in the bios setup program of your laptop (let the Audigy card alone and move the IRQ of the wireless card if you can, as a start) and/or within Windows using the Device Manager - have both cards in the machine when you use Windows to change the IRQ - that way Windows will be sensing both cards and show you how it is assigning the IRQs when both cards are installed. The option to change the setting may be greyed out until you select the IRQ for the card you want to change. If the option to change is still greyed out after you select (highlight) the IRQ number, Windows is not going to alllow you to change it.

This is pretty much a trial and error thing too, there is no real set configuration that I can tell you to try. Give it a try though, and keep thinking!
