Toshiba Stellite problem with instaling new Operational system XP

I am trying to instal a Win XP on my laptop with bootleged version of XP which I've downloaded from Internet, because I do not have a original software CD from the factory. I keep getting Operational system was not found on my screen . Any ideas how to resolve this? or maybe it's a CD/DVD rom is not working how can I detect if it's broken or not? thanks

when are you getting the error? after post, after installation, etc. I bet the version of windows you pirated is corrupt. maybe think about buying a copy, its really not that expensive.

Tips, tips and more tips.

First of all, Welcome to DH.

Second, don't admit to piracy.

Third, make sure you set the CD/DVD-ROM drive to boot first. Otherwise, like VikingGod said, it maybe corrupt or unbootable.

P.S - Support MS and buy your WinXP!
