Can anyone help a novice!! I run as a second computer an IBM ThinkPad 600e and I need to find a display driver for it that supports DirectX 9 for Windows XP professional. I have looked on the IBM site to no avail. Does anyone know how to sort out my problem – or isn’t there one?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

No, I don't think so. The chip in your unit is a NeoMagic MagicMedia 256AV - nice features (DVD player capability - one of the first, dual display), but the latest driver I could find was DX7 capable. Sorry...
I had that laptop before getting the Dell below...

its not even really DX7 compatible. Its compatible with DirectDraw from DX7. not Direct 3d.
Sorry dude, I have a 600X which is the more expensive model and it wont run ANYTHING. I have the original UT running in software mode which does okay, but other than that, you can kiss any plans for DX9-goodness goodbye.

Ah, really,
I had to run UT that way too - it was still fun though eh?
