Sony Vaio VGN-S3HP (please help)

Hi There,

Ive just bought a Sony Vaio VGN-S3HP ....
Reinstalled it , but Sony didnt provide me with the restore cd's. I have to buy them to make my laptop work again! (100$)!!! ...

Does someone have these cd's or a place where I can download them. Collected most of the drivers myself allready but can't find the Bluetooth drivers...

Hope one of you guys can help...

First, welcome to the forums!

If I remember correctly that is a UK/Euro only laptop, right? Unfortunatly, I was unable to find info on the specific bluetooth driver they use, but have you tried Sony's site through HERE? You will need the product code/serial number from the bottom of your laptop to get into that site (should take you right to the necessary laptop drivers).

If you can know what model of bluetooth adapter they use I can try to help out more.

The only Bluetooth drivers I can get ahold of is THIS one from Sony which is version 1.02 of their Bluetooth and Application setup, but I'm unsure if it will work for your laptop. If you check HERE you can go through their FTP site, and that particular link will take you to the Bluetooth section directly.

Hope that helps you out.

when you first buy the laptop, it should have asked if you wanted to create the restore cds. you can try to find that utility in the accessories or the control panel. that's just how the sonys are now (laptop and desktop)

Tipstaff,

Tryed all youre awnsers... but it doesn't seem to have the correct driver... FTP, Sony/Link Site, verion 1.02...

Trype system report utilities like Sandra Sisoft , but it just isnīt displaying my correct bluetooth ID.
Do you mabye know how to get to the Sony update site. If you have a preinstalled VAIO latop it has an application on it `VAIO Update 2' that updates youre system. I installed the new application, but aint be able to run it because this windows XP SP2 version that iīm running is not a Sony built. Can I mannuly access this website and download the appropriate drivers - updates... mayby I can find a bluetooth driver there...

Thatīs for your effort I greatly appriciate it...

Regards

Hans

Last thing I would suggest would be to try the 1.01 installer HERE. It could be that 1.02 requires Bluetooth drivers first before it updates. This one seems promising due to the other apps inside that compressed file (Bluetooth Driver and Application Software 1.01s, Sony Programmable IO Control Device Driver 7.0.3.820, and SonyUtil 3.1.0).

Also, the ones labeled as BTD in that are in the 'Bluetooth' folder on the FTP site, those look to be v.1.00 of the software too.

Only other thing you can do, now that you have all the other drivers you need, is to ask their tech support for that specific driver you need. They may be nice and it to you (since you aren't asking for the whole set of drivers.. just one).

Anyways, that's about all I can suggest. Hope you get this worked out.
