Mobile Meter

Just wanted to share a useful laptop utility that shows real time cpu and HDD heat levels as well as your CPU frequency and charge rate. I checked under options and saw that my battery wear level is at 35% no wonder I have such poor battery life these days.

Cool utility, thanks for sharing it! I haven't found many system status monitors that work very well with my laptop yet, but this one seems to be doing ok (Acer Aspire 1603LC)

you know an even better utility is Centrino Hardware Control www.pbus-167.com which even includes a utility for overclocking ATI cards.

Yeah but this works on non centrino cards, I also have powerstrip for overclocking but its pointless on a laptop, it runs too hot and overclocking it could cause more probs than benefits I'd say unless you have some sort of cooling solution like a cooling pad etc.

I guess it depends on how good your computer vendor's cooling solution is. I can game my Mobility Radeon 9700 at 500/300MHz without problems and that's just with the rear propped up because I have a ginormous battery pack.

overclocking isn't always stupid, my MR X700 laptop never really gets hot, surprising gateway actually made a good system
