**NEW** Centrino Hardware Control 1.8.1
get it here at http://www.pbus-167.com/chc.htm
for those of you who haven't tried it, chc is a program that allows you to manage vcore for different multipliers and save various profiles. it also features SMART hdd monitoring and over/underclocking for ATI videocards. changelog 1.8.1 1.8 - add possibility to run CHC on restricted user accounts (not administrator) - add possibility to change the TaskBar Icon ToolTips (CPU load, ATI clock or Fan status) - ATAPI blue screen fix (some notebooks have problems with 1.7 -> atapi.sys blue screens) - improved chc loading (startup) speed - removed all unsave code blocks in CHC - add support for the new ATI ATOM BIOS (X600, X700 ...) - improved ATI POWERPLAY(tm) check - add battery charge rate visualisation - removed bugs and optimized program performance and functionality - expand the help file |

after a min or so after I activate the program (this includes booting up the computer since the program activates on startup), the screen goes black I can still hear stuff in the background, if I have stuff running, so my computer still works, just the screen goes black. The old version did something different, after a few seconds after turning the program on (again including boot) the screen did some wierd thing like every other row of pixels slid over a few pixels and the computer locked up like that (requiring a force shutdown). Note this computer has a Gateway proprietary MoBo so that coud be it, or it could be because it uses the brand new Sonoma chipset technology, i dunno.

I can't even get far enough to enable/disable anything, so if it has anything to do with settings I'm outta luck.
