Toshiba Satellite 1100 Problems
Hi
My Wifes CD-Rom Drive not reading. Listed correctly in My Computer, and Device Manager. Is not listed on the Main page of BIOS. Is listed in the Boot Page, but does not have a + sign next to it,so when pressing enter, it does not Expand. but the Floppy, and Hard drives do have a + next to them, and do expand. So i can not even boot from the restore CD, to see if that would correct the problem. Also, the Network Adapter is not listed in Device manager, and there is no enable settings in the BIOS. I have tried a PCMIA Network adapter card,it installs OK, and is listed in Device Manager, but it does not show up in Network connections. So i cant even do a re-installation over a Network,or connect to the internet through my LAN using a Wireless Router/Modem. Even worse i have installed a ADSL modem, which is listed OK in Device Manager, but again is not listed in Network connections. I have been able to setup an Internet connection with internet Explorer, and the Dial connection Page Comes up and connects to the Internet, but the Web page is Blank apart from the words "JavaScript required to sign in" The reason i wanted to connect to the internet was to try and do an on-line virus scan to find out if that was what was causing the problems. Can some one help with this please Thanks |
