The only thing I've ever heard of is changing the screen out, IF it's the screen, and not the GPU that's bad.

You cannot fix dead pixels on a LCD. Period.

Check your warranty - hopefully it's still covered. Count the number of dead pixels and compare it to the warranty statement - most manufacturers now have a dead pixel policy that specifies the number and kind of pixel problems that are covered. Then contact the manufacturer if your dead/bad pixel problem meets the manufacturers warranty conditions.

yeah that'll help if the pixels are stuck on a single colour. but if they're black they're probably dead and nothing in the world can revive them. sometimes you get pixels stuck on black though so by all means try it out

Yeah I tried running the PSP video for 8 hours, no luck. Thanks for the advice though. There are only few so it's not a big problem, it is stuck on one color so I may try the video some more.

I tried the PSP fixer on a 17" with 1 pixel stuck red. It ran for 4 hours with no results. I then started rubbing around the pixel with my finger and a cloth. It soon went to blue, then after a bit more rubbing it started flash different colors out of sync. I walked away and after bout 30 min I came back and it was fixed, the next day it was stuck blue again. I started up the pixel fixer and rubbed again, it went normal again instantly and has worked fine every since.

LCD stands for liquid crystal display...so rubbing it actually shifts the liquid around and will change how it reacts/polarizes

Quicktime will play it. You can download it off of Apples site (it is now part of iTunes), or do a search for K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. When you run the video just move it to the section that has the bad pixel.
