my laptop wont boot up. please help.
I have an Asus M3000N laptop that wont boot up. It lets me turn it on and seems to be working fine. Then after 4-5 seconds it just shuts off. The laptop isnt on long enough for anything to appear on the lcd or for me to open the cd drive. Please help.

when did this start happening? do you remember any specific events that might've happened on your laptop to make it do this?
is it a battery/ac problem? try taking the battery out and running off the ac adapter. is there anywhere on the laptop that lets you reset the cmos? a better place to look for help might be the notebook forums, www.notebookforums.com |

Not alot you can do with a laptop and it sounds like a serious or hardware issue.
You might need to RMA it.

I tried turning it on by just using the battery and that didnt work. And then i tried turning it on with just the AC adapter and that didnt help either. I really have no clue to what the problem is.

Sounds Thermal to me.. Blow the Radiators out for the cooling fan and Heatsink assy prior to doing any tearing down.. Then verify you have a steady Adapter voltage when its inserted.. (Power LED on if you wiggle).. Dead battyey, Smoked CPU and Power jack issues are common on all laptops and can be repaired.. (We do a ton of them).. Good luck.

you do a ton of them.........
Ok guys, im going to let this thread sit without deleting it, and im even going to pimp it once before I close it by posting in it.....
well I dont like the fact you are asking the questions to yourself (yes same americantech ISP) in the aims to pimp your own site (again quite less than subtle use in your user name). Also might look more professional to potential customers if you spell checked your own posts........ I dont want to see anymore "clever" ploys to bypass our advertising rules on Driverheaven for commercial sites, if I do you will "both" be removed.
