Laptop just formated and having graphical lag.

I just formated my laptop today, and everything works fine except when I run graphic intensive videogames.

Everything seems to run much laggier and at lower frames. It almost feels as if the laptop isn't using all the RAM it possibly could when I'm in the games.

What could be the problem? Could it be my clockrates are much lower than they're supposed to?

Here are my computer's specs

AMD XP 3400 64
ATI 9700 Mobility
1 GB of RAM
Windows XP PRO
Lately Omega Driver for ATI Mobility Drivers

Hey kurtk,
What Omegadriver version are you running, what games do you play, and what are your frame rates? Maybe someone with a similar setup will see your figures and let you know from experience if that is typical or not, and if not, try to help you with improving the performance of your laptop.

I am running the newest drivers and playing World of Warcraft. The game used to run alot smoother but now its laggy.

When I'm in Orgrimmar I used to get 15-18 fps now I get 6-8. Whenever I alt tab back into the game it starts off at 1 fps and slowly climbs to 6-8. Another note - when I used to stare into the wall (point blank) I would get 80 fps, now I only get 30.

I feels as though a World of Warcraft isn't given all the power it normally does before I formated.

Could the lag come from a few options not turned on or options that is turned on that is causing my lag?

kurtk,

This looks to be a driver/game interaction problem. You'll probably get more help in the Mobility Radeon Drivers and Support forum - try starting a new thread on this problem there - OK?

I don't play the game so I can't help much, except in a general way.
