Acer 1600/Mobility 9000 gfx problem

Before i post next time i'll read more old threads, i promise! Anybody knows some pages about dissassembling acers ?

Hi, I have an Acer 1600 w Mob9000 and i'm having some weird problems recently. I've been playing Neverwinter nights when few days ago and they suddenly the screen got like another layer of fuzzy colored pixels on top of the original. I thought damn bugs, an as it was possible to recognise the menu underneath this new layer, i quit the game and as it continued in windows( xp home) i restarted the laptop and was suprised when the desktop of windows was still covered with these random pixels - obviously ruled out a software bug.

I know that acers tend to overheat( too bad nobody told me before i bought one as i had blown off the heat sensor a year ago, but i didn't play that long that day. So i just thought damn, i've blown the gfx card 1 month after my warranty xpired, they must have a feckin timer built in and shut the nb down. The next day i did some experimenting & discovered that as long as i dont use the 3d functions, everything works fine. When i use 3d( game or even a dxdiag test of dx functions) after a while - around 5 minutes the fuzzy pixel layer kicks in. I tried different drivers - my old acer ones, omega, it's still happens...

Anybody has an idea what the hell is going on? Is it possible to bake just a part of gfx card that is responsible for 3d acceleration? Is mobility 9000 an integrated card = you have to exchange the motherboard? Could it be some weird software bug, ie. should i hassle with reinstalling windows and drivers?

THX
