Smilie Linux drivers forum

There are forums under Radeon/nVidia/... for Windows 9x/ME and Windows 2k/XP drivers. Why not also add forum for Linux drivers for all cards.

If there were enough people talking about Linux drivers, the linux forum would be totally hopping... but it isn't. If there is enough interest, then the staff will take care of it.

UberLord will become famous soon enough

We don't really need Linux forums for each driver make. Not enough peeps post here as it is, and most distros come with decent 2D support for 99% of cards out-of-the-box.

And, also, Linux drivers are never leaked and not so frequently updated.

With IHV drivers you're correct, but OS drivers that come bundelled with XFree86 are worked on a fair bit - but they only come in source form from their CVS server which is not for the faint hearted!

Check out Schneider Digital. I think the drivers that are there, at least in the ATI section, can be classified as "leaks". Or at least this is a very special partner of ATI, since no-one else has the drivers they post...

By the way, if you want to download the drivers for your Radeon go to this section and download the appropriate glx1_linux_X4.x.zip for your XFree version.

Mine is XFree 4.3 and the drivers work fine, at least with the version that was on the site before the current one, haven't tried this one out yet.
