RIV@NVX will become famous soon enough
System Specs

I downloaded FC5 DVD today...

...and I already got it installed First impressions are good, I can see the improvements, especially in installer and package management, but I won't say anything generally until I give it a bit more testing. Regardless, it seems like the best FC release to date.

Anyone else tried it? And how do I make use of AIGLX thing?

Iroth is on a distinguished road

I'm burning the fifth disc right now, when I get home from work (have to leave in about 3 minutes) I'll be installing it. I've had a little bit of experience with Red Hat 7 and absolutely hated it, hopefully Fedora is a little more user friendly for someone with my limited experience. After having many problems with hanging boots in both 64 and 32 bit versions of SuSE and lock ups with Ubuntu maybe this distro will finally install smoothly. If not than Linux will be waiting for another 6 months to a year until my hardware is more widely supported.

Anyhow, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and forum as I'm sure I'll be having a few questions later on.

*First question, which is a better choice, KDE or GNOME? Also what are the difference? I liked the KDE set up of SuSE and didn't really like the GNOME set up for Red Hat 7 but I imagine there are some differences between distros in general.

I've got it up and running and I'm posting from it now. If somebody could be so kind as to help with getting some drivers installed for my video card (X1600XT) I would appreciate it.

X1000 series support should be here with the next driver release; for now it is not supported Iroth. You'll have to settle with the VESA driver.
