best "express gate" alternative?

hey boys and gals

I'm looking for an alternative to "Express Gate"... that little 512mb OS that boots in 5 seconds on new ASUS motherboards.
What I would love to do is make a small partition (10 gigs maybe) and have an OS boot in mere seconds just to check emails, a couple of quick websites and log off.

What would be the best linux-based OS for this operation?
