I've been using linux for a while, but my [unnamed] desktop is going to need linux now too. I really want to explore the other window managers out there, but I don't have the time. Thusly, I ask you all this - What WM do you use, and why? I'm looking for recommendations on a new one. I need speed and efficiency, but when I want it to I can make it look pretty. (like beryl if I wanna show off, but I need it to not always bog my system down.)

xfce should work fairly well for your needs. You can get it as part of the Xubuntu package or install it atop anything from BSD's to any Linux distro out there that supports X
