RH9 + Dlink DWL-650+

Alright,

I loaded RH9 Distro. from iso's burnt from the "unsupported" version onto my laptop (Compaq circa 2001). Install went fine, and everything works great except for my wireless card. Okay so I go a huntin for drivers, which I find here.

I've followed the instructions to the best of my ability, just I don't have a freaking clue how to do this. Yes, I am bit of a newbie but it's been since Suse 6.3 that I've messed w/ Linux. I understand how to configure the card if I can just get it working, not even perfect but if I can figure the rest out.

Any help is appreciated.

Well don't worry about this one folks. My opinion of Linux stays the same since 1999.

UberLord will become famous soon enough

I may be able to help you out - I've got a DWL520+ which is the same chipset and I'll be sticking RH9 back on my main rig "Soon ™"

Weird thing I got it to see the drivers, and I think it installed the card. However, the ethx setting was what was driving me nuts. It wouldn't activate the card though everything that was needed to I seen it load at boot. My laptop has XP on it but a very bare install..w/ nothing else so Linux could go back on it pretty quickly. I also had a problem w/ getting it working w/ the built in ethernet too. I just hate having to read something to know how to figure something out. I've always had better but yet frustrating time just figuring it out for myself. Amazed how quickly I picked up the command line stuff though.
