Ok I want to buy a pc with Mandrake 8.2 Linux OS already installed, and yes it's from
Walmart Anyway, I want to make it into a server, right now I have a small network, and I use ICS to share internet. So what does Mandrake 8.2 Linux OS use to share internet with? does it have something similar to ICS? what is it called, and how do you set it up, I don't have a router, and don't plan on buying one either. I want the Mandrake 8.2 Linux OS to be a server. |

You could always get Squid, which is a well-known, GPL proxy server. Or use the routing daemons which come with Linux by default ("routed" or "gated"), so as to say, make your Linux box become the router.

Mandrake has options in its networking to do exactly this. I'm not sure what packages it uses, but a friend of mine uses it for this and it works really well!
Easy to configure too apparently
